PFA Calls on Asian Nations to Unite for the 21st World Pencak Silat Championship & 6th Junior World Championship 2026

Tashkent, Uzbekistan | 5–12 December 2026

The Pencak Silat Federation of Asia (PFA) has called on National Pencak Silat Federations and Associations across Asia to come together and actively participate in the 21st World Pencak Silat Championship and 6th Junior World Pencak Silat Championship 2026, which will take place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from 5 to 12 December 2026.

Under the message “Asia United for the World Stage,” PFA is encouraging Asian nations to begin preparations early and ensure strong representation at this major international championship.

A Critical Moment for Pencak Silat

The 2026 World Championships represent an important opportunity for the global Pencak Silat community to demonstrate the sport’s strength, international reach and growing participation.

With Pencak Silat continuing to seek greater recognition within the international sporting community, participation from as many nations as possible is an important consideration for the sport’s continued development and international visibility.

According to IPSF-PERSILAT, the number of countries participating in a World Championship is among the important factors being considered in the sport’s international development and potential Olympic inclusion.

PFA Calls for Strong Asian Participation

PFA is therefore calling on all eligible Asian federations and associations to:
* Register and participate in the 2026 World Championships.
* Mobilize athletes, coaches and officials to represent their respective nations.
* Encourage wider national participation across eligible categories.
* Coordinate closely with IPSF-PERSILAT and the event organizers.
* Promote the championships nationally and provide full support to their teams.

“For this reason, every participating nation matters.”

One Championship, One Global Pencak Silat Community

The World Championships will bring together athletes, coaches, officials and Pencak Silat communities from Asia and around the world in the spirit of competition, friendship, unity and sporting excellence.

For PFA, the championship is more than a sporting event. It is an opportunity for Asian nations to demonstrate their collective commitment to the continued development, recognition and global growth of Pencak Silat.

PFA encourages all Asian federations to make the necessary preparations and ensure that their nations are represented in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from 5–12 December 2026.

Let Us Come Together for Pencak Silat

As the global Pencak Silat community prepares for one of its most important events of 2026, PFA reiterates its commitment to bringing Asian nations together and strengthening the presence of Pencak Silat on the international stage.
